As we’ve all seen and heard of the devastation caused by the wildfires in our state, most of us probably know someone affected. It’s easy to look at the loss and think, “There’s no hope,” BUT…we serve a BIG GOD and His desire is to bring hope and restoration to the lost. First, and foremost, continue to pray for the families who have suffered loss and for the first responders and volunteers working tireless hours to fight fires and help those in need. If you have been affected by the fires and need assistance, please contact our church office at (503) 581-0102 or office@salemec.com.

For those wanting to help, thank you for your heart to serve and your desire to see God bring comfort to those in our community. Rather than duplicate efforts that are already in place, please consider volunteering and donating through the following:

Oregon Cascade Plumbing & Heating is delivering care packages directly to firefighters. Click here to see the list of items needed. You can deliver items directly to Oregon Cascade at 1728 22nd St SE, Salem, OR 97302.

Other organizations you can help through:

United Way

Red Cross

Salvation Army

OR State Fairgrounds

CASA

If you prefer to donate funds through the church, you can send a check marked for the Disaster Relief Fund. We will use donated funds to purchase gift cards and items of need as well donate to organizations offering assistance.

The Oregon Wildfire Resources website has a lot of information on other ways to help.

We will continue to update you with ways that you can help bring Christ to our community.
