Good Morning Salem Evangelical Church Family,

We had a gorgeous late September evening to hold our church service outside this past Sunday.  At this point, the weather appears to be cooperating for another great evening service together this Sunday at 5 p.m.  If you have any questions about class times please contact Jim Neifert.  Classes throughout the day including quizzing will be held inside the buildings on Sunday.

Further, this will allow for possibly more people to attend the prayer service which will follow at around 6:15 p.m.  We will take a brief break around 6 for those who want to go home allowing people to reset for the prayer service which will start at around 6:15 with information from the Pastor Parish and Search Committees on progress towards a new Senior Pastor.  Then people are free to pray individually or in groups outside or inside the church in the lobby if you prefer.  When you are finished praying you are encouraged to visit before heading home.

Further, our decision to meet outside will be on a week by week basis recognizing our window of opportunity is narrowing with each passing week.  Having church service outside in the morning is no longer a consideration due to moisture and temperatures, so that window has closed.  At some point, the outdoor evening service window will close as well due to unfavorable weather.  Until then, let’s make the most of it!

When we must move inside permanently because of weather, the service will begin again at 9:15. We will give you as much notice as possible with it likely being the same week as that Sunday service.

Our plans are just that, plans.  We have discovered that outside circumstances can change our plans with little notice.

Wednesday night classes got off to a good start.  You are invited to attend “The Truth Project” which is also live-streamed.  There are classes for all ages which begin at 6:30. Please consider building this in to your weekly schedule.

October 4 at 2:30 is the life chain event on both Broadway Street and Liberty Street which are both on the edge of our properties.   This event runs from 2:30-3:30. Signs will be provided for you.  Please do not bring your own signs.

We will be posting in the next several weeks an update on some of the wonderful things that have happened and some of the things that are happening and some of our plans for the coming months that give us pause to thank the Lord and praise the Lord for what He is doing at S.E.C. You will have opportunity to pray for upcoming events as we make them known to you.  Very exciting days ahead for S.E.C.!

Thanks for your continued prayers, participation and support for the ministries of S.E.C.

In Christ,

Pastor Randy R. Butler
