Update on Search for Senior Pastor

July 21, 2020

SEC has been blessed to have 35 years of Godly leadership from Pastor Randy.  While his stepping down is bittersweet, we are looking forward to what God has in store for us.  We have a church that loves the LORD, is led by the Holy Spirit, and holds fast to His Word.  God loves His church and desires the best for us. He already knows who our next pastor will be and His timing is perfect (Proverbs 3:5-6).

As we seek our new Pastor, it is the goal of the Pastor Parish and Search Committees to keep our SEC family informed. The committees met with Randy Myers, Evangelical Church Conference Superintendent, to start the recruitment process. A job announcement has been developed and recently posted to numerous sites through various venues (including the SEC website – www.salemec.com).

God’s Word is clear on the requirements for pastors as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. These scriptures form the foundation for our search.  Our goal is to remain true to God’s Word, relying fully on the Holy Spirit to guide us.

A valuable part of this process is seeking God’s wisdom and direction through prayer. Joyce Wilhelm is leading a team to pray for the Search Committee and our new Pastor. We encourage you also to be in prayer for the Search Committee, our new pastor, and for Randy and Joanie as they seek God’s direction for their lives.

If you have questions you would like to ask, please feel free to contact members of the Search Committee.

More information will be coming. Until then, let’s rest in Philippians 4:6-7:

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

In His Service,

Rod Rosenkranz
