Good Afternoon Salem Evangelical Church Family,
The rains are finally upon us. It has been a wonderful experience being able to meet outside, as we have for the past number of weeks. We have indeed made lemonade out of lemons!
Starting this Sunday, we will be bringing the Sunday morning Church service back to the morning time of 9:15 AM. Further, we will be inside with some adjustments I will share with you in this email.
Supt. Randy Myers will be speaking this Sunday from Matthew 16:13-20, with a message entitled, “The Church’s one foundation” concluding his two-week series he began last Sunday.
The Worship Center is limited to 100 people (until further notice by the Governor) and face coverings are required inside by the Governor. Seating will be on a first come first serve basis until we reach 100. We are asking you to please honor social distancing as well.
Another option will be outdoor seating in the drive thru. Feel free to bring your own chairs, as you have been doing for the outside services, and we will have speakers set up.
Classes that are meeting at 11 AM will once again have the advantage of coming to church at 9:15 AM and staying for an 11 AM class. Classes that were canceled, or had to adjust to our church service being outside at 5 PM, please check with your class teacher to verify if you are meeting.
Prayer service will begin at 6 PM in the Worship Center. You are welcome to bring chairs and sit outside in the drive thru if you prefer, where there are fewer limitations. In keeping with our present limitations, your prayer group is welcome to meet in the lobby or another area in the church after the weekly Senior Pastor search progress report and opening word of prayer. Because we will be spread out, we will not ask you to come back together at the end with a final closing prayer.
Your prayers for our church and for our future are appreciated more than ever. Your words of encouragement are always deeply appreciated. God bless you for both!
